Eugene Conroy MsC CEng MIET ACIBSE MIHEEM, Managing DirectorEugene 1 closeup

Eugene founded Eta Projects in 1996 with a specific aim to provide clients with a specialist high-level design where secure infrastructures were required in both Electrical and Mechanical services.

Prior to this Eugene held several Senior Electrical Engineer positions at numerous consultancy firms, namely: Ove Arup, Mott McDonalds and Meit Associates. He represented the British Airports Authority as the senior High Voltage engineer on the Heathrow Express.

Eugene completed both the Higher National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (HNC) and the Continued Education Diploma. He also holds a Building Services Master’s degree from Brunel University.

Eugene is a Chartered Engineer through the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE). Eugene is also a member of other Professional Institutes, such as CIBSE, IEEIE, IHEEM and the Society of Professional Witnesses.

Kim Phillips close upKim Phillips CIPD MIET AMIHEEM, Director

Kim joined Eta Projects in 2008 as the Office Administrator and now acts as the main point of contact for clients. As well as this, Kim is responsible for the daily operational management of Eta Projects, including Finance, HR, Project Management and Administration. Kim joined the Royal Mail as a school leaver in 1999 and successful career progression led to a promotion to Delivery Office Manager at the age of 21.

Kim is an Associate CIPD, having successfully completed the Certificate in Personnel Practice with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) and also has an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration. She has successfully completed courses in Sage50, project costing and several MS office packages. Kim is currently undertaking an Open University degree in Psychology.

Stephen closeupStephen Endersby MIET MIHEEEM, Mechanical Director  

Stephen joined Eta Projects in 2004 to lead the Mechanical division. To date, Stephen has been instrumental in the company’s success in securing a number of large prestigious Mechanical infrastructure projects on behalf of the NHS. Prior to joining Stephen held several senior positions as a Mechanical Associate at Team Reflex, Martin Clowes Associates, Gibbs Dench Associates and the BBC.

Stephen served a full apprenticeship with Carrier Engineering Ltd and qualified as an engineer via traditional office advancement. His career initially started as a design draughtsman and progressed to qualified Engineer status. Stephen is a member of the IET and IHEEM.

Vince closeupJeremy Watson MIET, Director 

Jeremy manages a team of electrical design engineers with the responsibility for developing detailed designs and specifications in line with the client’s requirements, working closely with them through the tendering, procurement & delivery stages of projects. He has over 30 years’ experience in HV and LV Power Distribution, Process Control Systems, Scheme Design & Project Management.


Our AE and Training Team

Geoff Yeomans Close upGeoff Yeomans CEng FIHEEM MIET LCGI, Director of A.E., Technical & Training Services

Geoff is a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) and has been elected to Fellow status through the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estates Management (FIHEEM). Geoff is also registered as MIET and with the Professional Engineers Registration Council, Bermuda, Along with a Licentiateship in Electrical Engineering with the City & Guilds of London Institute.

Geoff was a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at the York Technical College for five years and has held several senior positions in Estates Management at a number of Hospitals and NHS Trusts including the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead as Senior Electrical Engineer and Estates Manager and the New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton as Head of Estates. He then moved to Bermuda Hospitals Board as Director of Facilities and Principal Engineer. Prior to his service within the NHS, he held senior positions with the Bermuda Electric Light Company Ltd for six years as Professional Training and Safety Officer and five years as Underground O&M Engineer and Senior Control Engineer. Geoff was also a co-writer of the current HTM 06-02 (LV).

Peter closeupPeter des Forges, Director of Training

Peter began his career with the PSA in 1972 and progressed to Professional & Technology officer by 1985 where he became an Authorised Person for HV, LV, POL and Pressure systems. In 1989 he was promoted to Higher Professional & Technology officer at RTCC Training School at Cardington. In 1993 Peter move to WTI (later to become Develop Training) and help set up the York M&E training centre. During his time at York progress from Senior Training Consultant to Deputy Director. Peter moved to Eta Projects in 2014 as Training Director is responsible for Eta Projects’ Training products.

Peter is a member of IHEEM and has an HNC in Industrial Measurement and Control and an Eng Tech in Plant Maintenance.





 Our Electrical Team

Steven Osterfield EngTech TMIET MIHEEM, Associate DirectorSteve closeup

Steven joined Eta Projects in 2004 as part of the specialist power team designing and managing DC power systems. Steven works on the High Voltage and Low Voltage Electrical infrastructure distribution systems, particularly on large healthcare projects. His specialist area is in the final commissioning and acceptance of Electrical systems and ensuring compliance with the relevant HTMs. Steven has full responsibility for the design, installation and commissioning of a number of major NHS infrastructure projects at St Thomas’ Hospital and St Marys Hospital.

Steven has completed the Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Building Services Engineering and City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2. Steven has also completed the Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 06-03 HV authorised persons course and currently working towards Chartered Engineer status. He has completed the High Voltage Authorised Person course.

John closeupJohn Allen, Electrical Engineer

John joined Eta Projects in 2009 and, having site managed projects at Whipps Cross Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital. John is also one of a team of Electrical Engineers specialising in DC power that works for Verizon Business International.

John is a very experienced Electrical site manager having worked for RTT Engineering Services Ltd and then at TSSR. He has managed interdisciplinary teams of between 10 and 140 personnel on project values of up to £9M for both the public and private sectors.

John completed the study Electrical Engineering at the Medway College, he has CGLI Electrical Installations parts A, B and C and in addition, John is also IOSHH qualified.

Neil closeupNeil Fitzjohn BEng (Hons) MIET, Senior Electrical Engineer

Neil joined Eta Projects in 2014 as part of the specialised power team. Neil has previously worked in consultancy practices and also in the engineering department of an established switchgear manufacturer. He is currently working towards Chartered Status.

Neil served a full Electrical apprenticeship at Giffen’s Electrical Contractors and completed the City and Guilds parts A, B and C in Electrical Installation.

Neil continued his education by obtaining a BTEC ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering and a Degree in Building Services Engineering. Neil is also a member of the IET.

Stuart Flint MIET MIHEEM, Electrical Engineer

Stuart joined Eta Projects in 2013 and is currently one of a team of Electrical Engineers specialising in DC power that works for large international telecommunications companies. Stuart has over 30 years’ experience as an electrician, specialising in DC, HVAC, standby generators and UPS power systems.

Stuart has a City and Guilds 2392 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification BS7671 17th Edition. Stuart is also an HV Authorised person and passed a European FGAS Course at the Airedale International College in Leeds.

Dean Morse, Electrical Engineer

Dean joined Eta projects in 2015 as part of the specialised power team.

Dean has previously worked within the engineering department of an established switchgear manufacturer.
Specialising in system control design, for power critical environments such as the banking sector.

Dean has a City and Guilds certificate Part 1 and 2 Electrical and Electronic Craft Studies, Part 1 Electrical Installation Competences.

Jack Gardner GIHEEM, CAD Coordinator Engineer

Jack joined ETA Projects Ltd in 2016, working closely with the Electrical team to manage and to provide high-quality drawings for all projects, whilst also managing in-house documentation and making sure they are up to Eta Projects Ltd standard.

Jack has also undertaken an NVQ 3 in ICT as part of an apprentice scheme. Jack is also currently enrolled in several training courses to enhance his working knowledge i.e. Revit and BIM level 2.

Mark Cunningham TMIET AMIHEEM, Electrical Engineer

Mark joined ETA Projects in May 2015 carrying out surveys on existing electrical equipment across Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He has also been involved in projects such as the HV/LV Infrastructure upgrade at Hammersmith Hospital and St Marys Hospital. Mark is currently undertaking a Level 4 HNC in Electrical Engineering with the Westminster University.


Our Building Services Team

Roger Best, Electrical Engineer (Consultant)

Roger joined Eta Projects in 2013 as a consultant and is part of the building services design team. Roger qualified with a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Building Engineering Services (Electrical) at South Thames College, London, having completed a five-year apprenticeship with Drake and Scull Engineering International in 2000.

Since working at Eta Projects Roger has worked extensively on NHS hospital projects covering the design, supervision and financial aspects of the projects.

Roger has over 25 years in the building services field and has experience in design, services audits, condition and acquisition surveys and maintenance.


Matt Web

Matthew Page MIET AMIHEEM, Electrical Engineer

Matthew joined Eta Projects in 2015 as part of the specialised power team. Matthew has previously worked as an Electrician completing a 3-year apprenticeship and obtaining his level 2 and 3 City and Guilds certificates.

Matthew has continued his education by completing a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology degree at the University of Greenwich and is soon to embark on a masters degree in Building Services Engineering.

Matthew is also a registered member of the IET.

Jibran Ahmed MEng, Mechanical Engineer

Jibran joined Eta Projects in 2015 to form part of the Mechanical Engineering team, so far Jibran has worked on a variety of projects including a domestic water services projects for Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital Trust as well as ventilation upgrade projects for operating theatres at St George’s Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital.

Jibran has a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Queen Mary, University of London, and has completed an internship with Syntegra Consulting. Jibran is a member of the IET and IHEEM and is working towards Chartered status.

Jibran’s previous experiences include projects involving designing and building innovative solar power technologies.

Lars Mai Dipl.-Ing (FH), Mechanical Engineer

Lars joined Eta Projects in 2016 as part Mechanical Engineering team, so far Lars has worked on a variety of projects including a domestic water services projects for The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust – Mount Vernon Hospital as well as replacement of existing ventilation and cooling system for an office building.

Lars has over 15 years’ experience in the Building Services Industry and started his career as an apprentice and gradually developed into a mechanical engineer within private consultancies.

Lars is a member of IHEEM and is working towards Chartered status.


Our Office Team

Angela commenced employment with Eta in 2004. Angela’s main role is ensuring all data is entered into SAGE correctly, bank payments & reconciliation, cash flow, VAT returns, pensions and Management Accounts.  Angela’s portfolio also included the management of the building that Eta currently operates from.

Prior to working for Eta Projects Angela was an Office Manager in an art book publishing company in Oxford and also worked as a Financial Controller at Wehrle Environmental Ltd who specializes in wastewater & anaerobic treatment plants.

Angela has an Open University B.Sc. 2:1 honors degree in International Studies.

Kacyan Bartley, Office Administrator

Kacyan joined Eta Projects in 2016 as the Office Administrator. Kacyan is responsible for the day-to-day organisation and maintenance of the office including H&S and ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 compliance.

Kacyan has extensive experience in customer care and diary management. She has GCSEs and has completed an NVQ3 in Business Administration on an apprentice scheme.
