Hillingdon Hospital is undertaking a major backlog maintenance programme at the same time as a major A&E development project are taking place under a Procure-21+ programme.
Eta Projects have undertaken numerous separate briefs in the preparation of detailed designs and tendering packages for typical mechanical and electrical service for areas such as HDU, CCU, ITU, central plant, circulation areas, etc. We are also part of a design team including Architects, Structural Engineers and Quantity Engineer undertaking extensive enabling works to decant several areas to enable demolition and rebuild of the new £10.0m A&E extension building which is due to start under a Procure 21+ project.
The design of a bespoke surface lighting system enabled the majority of new lighting especially the emergency lighting to be installed with no impact on areas with asbestos. The result was an ascetically pleasing lighting system.
The testing programme on the generators revealed some serious defects in both the resilience and design of the standby generator system, which were detected and rectified before a potential incident occurred.
Eta Projects Ltd recommended a site based condition report. This study concluded in the development of a master infrastructure plan for both Electrical and Mechanical services which enabled each element of work to be prioritised in an orderly manner with each individual project complimentary to each other. This ensured continued investment in a cost effective way and enable development of the Trust Estates 5-year Capital Investment plan.
